Rev. Dr. Arthur Carson
Not only is Rev. Carson a pastor, but he is also affiliated with several community, state, and national organizations: Chairman of the Atlanta Nehemiah Housing Alliance, LLC. (Nehemiah seeks to build affordable and work force housing), past Moderator of the Mount Hermon Association, President of the Congress of Christian Education of the Mt. Hermon Association and Second Vice President of the New Era Missionary Baptist State Convention of Georgia. He also teaches a host of Christian Training Workshops for churches, associations, conventions and conferences. For many years he was an instructor at the Progressive National Baptist Convention Congress.
Rev. Carson has a love and passion for the Word of God, he is devoted to helping and encouraging young kids within the fellowship and the community. He reads weekly to Scott, Slater, Blaylock, Cleveland Avenue and Gideons Elementary Schools as well as Chapel Hill Middle School in the Atlanta area.
Dr. Carson has served twice as Chaplain of the day for the Georgia General Assembly. He has received a number of awards from various groups throughout the Atlanta Community. In 2002 Rev. Carson received the Golden Apple Award for his volunteer work in the Atlanta Public School System. Community outreach has been one of his hallmarks.Many ministries have begun under the leadership of Pastor Carson; the Deaconess Ministry, Naomi Women Ministry, Joshua Men Ministry, Timothy Ministry and the Samuel Ministry
Minister Antoinette Carson is a native of Augusta, Georgia. She was born on November 13, and is the third child born to Mr. Moses and Mrs. Martha Reid.
Her Christian life was shaped early by several Christian influences. The first person to impact her life was her mother. She shared the commitment to the principles of Jesus Christ part in the growth of her life. The second influence was the Sunday School teachers at Liberty Baptist Church.
Minister Carson serves along with her husband, the Rev. Dr. Arthur Carson, Jr. at the Springfield Missionary Baptist Church. Her work and ministry was the organizing of a ministry for women called the Women of Faith, which was a great inspiration to the women in the church. Minister Carson quietly moves in the direction God leads her, whether if it is one to one counseling, praying for others, praying for her church, or preaching God's Word. Along with supporting her husband, she serves as vice-president of the Alfreda Young Ministries.
Minister Carson is married to the Rev. Dr. Arthur Carson, Jr. whom God has greatly used to strengthen her life in the faith. She continues to fill the role as the Pastor's wife at Springfield Baptist Church. She is a proud mother of two wonderful children, Darrell and Kasheida.
